Tradition of Franciacorta: la barca di San Pietro

Sabato 29 Giugno è il giorno di San Pietro e Paolo...quindi? direte voi...Qui in Franciacorta, soprattutto nei paesi affacciati sul lago, è fortemente radicata la tradizione della Barca di San Pietro ( Paolo non viene citato, non chiedetemi perchè, nessuno è stato in grado di darmi una risposta). Infatti, la notte tra il 28 e il 29 Giugno di ogni anno, è tradizione fare appunto la Barca, riempiendo di acqua una bottiglia a cui va aggiunto un albume d'uovo; questa, poi, viene quindi messa in un posto isolato e al buio (possibilmente nell'orto o in giardino). La mattina seguente si osserva il risultato e in base al numero ed alla forma delle vele si intuisce se sarà un anno buono o meno per la pesca o per il raccolto.
Inoltre, gli abitanti della zona, in questo giorno, sconsigliano di fare il bagno perchè si dice che la madre di San Pietro pretenda un sacrificio umano in questa ricorrenza.....gli scettici ci sono sempre, e ogni anno ridono di questa leggenda ma, dico io, perchè andare proprio a cercarsela....sbaglio? Io da credente o credulona, chiamatemi come vi pare, vi sconsiglio di fare il bagno...
Comunque, come sempre, mi immolerò per la causa, e provvederò a documentare tutta la procedura con risultato finale...e vedremo come andrà...

When I was a believer or gullible, call me what you want, I do not recommend to swim ...
However, as always, I immolate for the cause, and I will document the entire procedure with the final result ... and we'll see how it goes ...
